The Lanzhou-Chengdu-Chongqing Product Oil Pipeline was designed in April 1999 and is 1,247 km long with pipe diameter of 508 mm and design pressure of 14.76 MPa. Passing through the loess plateau and debris flow area, landslip area, earthquake rift zone, gullies and other complex terrains in the Qinling Mountain, and having a maximum elevation drop of 2,255 m and the inter station elevation drop of 1,507 m, the project was the then China's longest product oil pipeline with the largest diameter and the biggest number of product oils by batch transportation. It is also the pipeline with the largest elevation drop in the world.
